The VW Golf is one of the most popular cars in Europe, from the base model all the way up to the GTI and R models. Since the release of the Mark V in the mid 2000's, it has been an increasingly popular model in Australia, especially the GTI, and the newly released Mark VII looks to be a winner too.
This was the first Mark VII we've had the pleasure to work on, and look forward to working on many more. They truly are a fantastic car, a beautiful interior, and excellent paint that was a pleasure to work with. Katie brought her brand new car in for a paint correction and Opti-Coat. After a light polish, the stunning red colour really popped in the sun, and Katie was very happy indeed!
As it came, despite the overcast day, you could tell it lacked the real depth and gloss new cars should have:
Wheels were dirty too...
But we soon fixed that:
Soaking the car in our unique blend of cleaners to best strip and clean it:
This allowed us to see the state of the car. Swirls, scratches, and sticker lines:
A distinct lack of clarity:
Apologies for the lack of 'during' photographs. It was a typical Canberra day, cold and wet!
But luckily the sun came out the following day, allowing us to get some stunning photos. Check out the two sun spots in the below photo and the complete lack of swirl marks!
Honestly, pictures do not do this car justice! This colour is simply stunning, its a mixture of dark red, with a touch of orange, that changes in the sun!
