Phillip's VW Golf R

The Golf R replaced the somewhat legendary Golf R32, and its gorgeous 3.2L VR6 engine. Whilst a simple reflash of the ECU of a GTI would make it faster than the R32, the R32 was known for its glorious engine growl, and there are a few getting around with turbo setups, making in excess of 500hp!

Despite losing the VR6 due to emissions, the Golf R got an updated version of the FSI engine, using a K04 turbo to produce some big power. This lead to more power and torque over the outgoing model, in a lighter car with more balanced wight distribution. It's no wonder they are so popular!

It's been a while since we've had a Golf R in, so we were more than happy to perform a paint correction on Phillip's car, and apply Opti-Guard on the inside, and Opti-Coat on the outside for long lasting paint correction.

The car was candy white with gloss black 19" wheels, our favourite combo!

It was full of swirls, scratches and watermarks, being about a year old:

However, being a quality German car, there was plenty of paint thickness:

Time to bathe and wash the car:

Just some of the tools of the trade. The Rupes Bigfoot represents the latest in paint correction machinery:

It's important to be able to get into the small areas so we have a mini-machine for that:

The interior was given a thorough clean before being treated with Opti-Guard:

And finished!

Phillip is currently recovering from surgery and we wish him a speedy recovery. His brother picked up the car and was stunned with it. We hope Phillip is equally stunned once he is able to get out of bed.

From the team at Obsession Car Detailing, we wish you a speedy recovery!
